Ecological Sustainability

Environmental Management

CWP introduced the ISO14001 environmental management system in 2019, and continues to
improve the safety of the plant site operating environment, and has also established safe
operating environment in compliance with the laws and requirements of proprietors. The plant
site space planning is optimized during the early stage of the operation, and complete safety
labeling of the plant site is ensured. In the future, CWP will continue to exert effort in the
eco-friendly manufacturing process, such as the use of welding materials that are relatively
harmless to human body, and purchase of comprehensive pollution prevention equipment,
in order to seek environmental sustainable development.

Energy Management

The rapid shifts in domestic and international political, economic, and energy landscapes
have led the government to advance new energy policies and drive energy transformation,
fostering the development of the autonomous green energy industry. As electricity is an
essential necessity in modern life, balancing environmental concerns with energy production
has become a global priority, underscoring the importance of energy transformation.

In line with the goal of creating a "green energy home" and fulfilling international carbon
reduction commitments, Century Wind Power Co., Ltd. is implementing an internationally
recognized energy management system and has established energy policies to guide and
encourage all employees in their adherence.

The procedures of CWP are mainly divided into welding and coating operations.
The energy used is mainly diesel, LPG, oxygen, mixed gas and electricity. The diesel is
mostly used for on-site procedures (i.e., aerial work platforms, forklifts, transportation
vehicles and power generators for hoisting for plant construction.) The use of LPG is for
thermal-forming , cutting , heating and preheating in the procedures, and the mixed gas ,
CO2 , and liquid CO2 welding operations. The use of electricity is for coating equipment
and the environmental temperature and humidity control, overhead cranes, and shovel
repair machines.

The higher electricity consumption in 2022 compared to 2023 is attributed to
near-maximal equipment capacity utilization and abnormal power usage in 2022.
Consequently, in 2023, CWP upgraded and replaced power circuits to reduce energy
consumption.

Water Resource

CWP is located at Bali District of New Taipei City, and the main water withdrawal
source is from Feitsui Reservoir. In addition, according to the “Water Resource Risk
Assessment Tool” of the World Resources Institute, it indicates that the water resource
stress of the location of the water withdrawal source is at “Low-Medium Risk (1-2)”.
Since the product process does not require a large amount of water consumption,
CWP’s water consumption mainly refers to the domestic water for office buildings.
In addition, since there are no chemical processes, CWP is not required to implement
special treatment of polluted wastewater.

Renewable Energy

The roof of each plant site of CWP is installed with solar photovoltaic panel power
generation systems leased to the external company, in order to increase the green
energy electricity generation ratio.

GHG Inventory

CWP established the operating process for GHG inventory in 2023 and passed the
verification of ISO14064-1:2018 GHG inventory in April 2024 (office building and
Phase 1 plant). It is estimated to expand its boundary in 2025 to pass the third-party
verification of the entire plant. In addition, the Company also plans to introduce the
ISO 50001 energy management system in 2024 to comprehensively calculate the
energy consumption in order to facilitate the development energy management
strategy based on environmental management, thereby reducing the carbon dioxide
emissions of the offshore wind farm industry chain.

Note:

1. The organizational boundary scope in 2023 was the office building and Phase 1 plant,
and the third-party verification was performed in April 2024.

2. The GHG emissions factor refers to GHG emission Factor Table Version 6.0.4 announced
by environmental Protection Administration, and the electricity factor of 0.495kg CO2e/kWh
is used for the calculation of Scope 2.

3. The source of Global Warming Potential (GWP) used by the 2023 Report is the
“Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) (2021)”
Version.

Waste Management

The underwater foundation manufacturing process includes welding and coating.
The waste generated from the welding process refers to the welding slag and waste
grinding wheel piece. The air pollution caused by the grid blasting operation during
the coating process is filtered by the dust-collecting equipment and the washing tower
is able to dissolve the pollutant in the water, in order to effectively reduce the emissions
of air pollutants. In 2023, the particles treated by the equipment was 1.13 tons in total,
and the remaining volatile organic compounds (VOC) was 8.057 tons in total.

Legal disposal companies are engaged to recycle welding slags generated from
procedures and report to the competent authority. CWP does not generate hazardous
industrial waste, and the rest of the non-hazardous waste (i.e., employees’ domestic
waste, waste grinding wheel chips, welding slags) is mainly disposed of by landfill.
Therefore, we continue to explore and move toward the development of resource-based
products. In 2023, the disposal volume of wastes of Century Wind Power was 85.2 tons.

Environment Monitoring

The Company performs monitoring on the effluent quality, manufacturing process noise,
air emissions, and geological changes annually, and also fulfills the commitment in
environmental assessment of the leased port area land. The environmental monitoring
area includes the plant site of each phase, and the monitoring operation of different
frequency is implemented based on the state of use of the plant site. All monitoring items
in 2023 qualified the assessment.
