2020 Century Wind Power - Sponsorship of Chiayi High School Scholarships
Century Wind Power, recognizing Chiayi High School's outstanding contribution to
nurturing talent, donated NT$500,000 in scholarships in 2020. This act of giving
back to society also reflects the company’s commitment to its hometown,
investing in rural education and encouraging future generations to
pursue academic excellence.

Principal Liu Yung-Tang, accompanied by Director Yeh Kuo-Tsung,
Director Kuo Liu-Chih, Secretary Chang Wei-Chieh, and other senior administrators,
visited Chairman Lai Wen-Hsiang of Century Group at Taipei Port.
They were joined by alumni leaders, including Jian Hung-Wen,
Chairman of the Alumni Education Affairs Foundation, Chen Shih-Ching,
President of the Taipei Alumni Association, former President Kuo Feng-Ming,
Secretary-General Lee Chi-Tsun, and Lee Chung-Liang,
Chairman of Ko Lin Industrial Co.
Chairman Lai warmly welcomed the delegation, introduced Century Group,
and facilitated a tour of the offshore wind power plant. He commended
Chiayi High School for its remarkable achievements in education
and its legacy of nurturing countless talents. To support education,
he generously donated NT$500,000 in scholarships. In return,
Principal Liu expressed gratitude for Chairman Lai's generosity and enthusiasm,
presenting him with a Chiayi High School commemorative cap, badge,
and the 95th Anniversary Celebration wine.
A native of Dalin, Chairman Lai left his hometown at a young age
to pursue his ambitions in northern Taiwan. Embodying the spirit of perseverance
and determination, he has achieved success through relentless effort
and a keen eye for investment opportunities. His commitment to aligning
with national policies led him to spearhead the offshore wind power industry.
He has also taken the lead in developing the sub-component industry,
striving to establish an industrial blockchain that allows SMEs
to access this emerging sector. By expanding the industry, he aims
to benefit Taiwan and believes that localization is essential for globalization.
To compete on the international stage, collaboration among national teams is crucial.
