Employee Health Care
Medical Service and Injury Prevention
In addition to full-time factory nurse to provide basic health consultation to employees,
since 2021, Century Wind power has also hired contracted medical personnel to proceed to
the Company to provide field health consultation to employees, in order to allow employees to
receive professional physician’s health guidance and interview through face-to-face interview
one by one. In 2023, a total of 61 employees used the health consultation services, focusing on
issues such as noise, overload, and human factors (musculoskeletal).
CWP organizes annual employee health examinations and the four major plans of labor health
protection (human-factor engineering factor, abnormal workload, illegal occupational
infringement, and maternity health protection) for inspection and prevention. The Company
also shares health related information and knowledge with employees daily through e-mail.
Furthermore, the Company also occasionally organizes first-aid safety and health education
and training and sets up multiple AED facilities at different places in order to enhance the
internal first-aid network of CWP. In addition to internal employees of the Company,
the Company also assisted subsidiaries and all cooperating contractors performing joint
operations at the plant site to undergo the health examination.
In 2023, a total of 571 persons participated in the health inspection.
Pandemic and Seasonal Flu Response Measures
CWP promotes relevant health information and matters of notice via e-mail and communication
software from time to time to avoid the spread of any pandemic in the Company. In addition,
CWP also encourages employees to have seasonal influenza vaccines to protect themselves and
the health of all personnel.
Abnormal Workload and Human-factor Hazards
To protect employees’ health, CWP periodically distributes questionnaires related to muscle
and bone symptoms, work and life self-evaluation, human-factor hazards, and overwork to
employees to fill out periodically. Through the statistics of the working hours of various types
of employees and the analysis of a professional medical team, the overwork burden and
abnormal muscle and bone evaluations of employees are evaluated and ranked in levels for
determination, and appropriate measures are also adopted, in order to prevent overwork or
abnormal muscle and bone conditions due to excessive working hours of employees. For any
person with a health anomaly, CWP will recommend he/she improve his/her health through
interviews with plant physicians and continue to track his/her health status.
Maternity Health Protection
CWP has established the “Instruction for Maternity Health Protection at the Workplace”
according to the “Occupational Safety and Health Act” and the
“Regulations of the Maternity Health Protection at the Workplace.” Through the risk
evaluations by employees, residing nursing personnel, visiting doctors, and supervisors of
responsible departments, the labor health condition self-evaluation form for pregnancy and
childbirth for less than one year, work adequacy arrangement recommendation form, and
workplace hazard evaluation, etc., working environment factors (including equipment,
measures, items, and operations) that may be hazardous to maternity health can be prevented,
allowing employees to work with ease with the precondition of not affecting maternal physical
and mental health. In addition, CWP has also set up nursery rooms, and arranges for parental
leave without pay for employees according to relevant regulations. In 2023, a total of three
employees applied for parental leave without pay, and the reinstatement rate was 100%.
Workplace Unlawful Infringement
To avoid physical or mental injuries arising from unlawful infringement on laborers when
executing duties by the employer, supervisors, colleagues, service counterparties, or other
third parties at the workplace, CWP has established the “Guidelines for Workplace Violence
Prevention” and “Regulations for Sexual Harassment Control Measures, Grievance, and
Punishment” according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act to provide the reporting
channels and methods to employees. It also learns unlawful infringement encountered by
employees for their duties through the violence hazard survey questionnaires and unlawful
infringement forms, investigates, follows up, makes disposals, and cares to ensure the
physical and mental health of employees. In addition, a self-inspection form for unlawful
workplace infringement is also distributed to supervisors of departments to eliminate
unlawful workplace infringement from the top through self-examination. CWP introduced
an external EAP to provide one-on-one professional psychological counseling to assist
employees in solving problems through timely discovery in order to improve the working
environment.
