Purchasing New Land with NT$0.7 Billion, CT is Expanding the Wind Power Business

CT (9958) has announced that it will spend a total of NT$716 million in acquiring the land of 30,000 pings at Guanyin District of Taoyuan City to expand its factory in response to the new wind power business.     


In response to the business expansion and long-term development of the company, CT has announced that two pieces of lands with a total area of 29,699 pings have been acquired. With two adjacent lands located right next to CT's existing factories, the new factories are expected to be built in the fourth quarter of this year. It is estimated that the equipment and machinery will be installed to manufacture wind power-related products next year.


Together with Taiwan Generation Corporation and CSBC Corporation, CT is expected to install a total of 2 wind power demonstration units 11 kilometers away from Fangyuan Township of Changhua County. With a subsequent order quotas of 28 unit sets, the 3 corporations are committed to seeking for business opportunities in the wind power market. 


Due to the economic recovery this year, CT's order visibility from both the electronic factories and private construction projects have been arranged to the end of 3rd quarter this year. In addition, steady steel price have also contributed to the significant gross margin development this year.
